Can I Be Philosophical For A Minute?

I'm always up for a challenge. I like to keep things interesting and try avoiding stagnation in pretty much all aspects of my life.  However, I don't like it when  I've accepted any particular challenge and it's content and  means to it's end becomes out of focus, creates self doubt along the way or worse, I'm unable to meet the goals of the challenge clean and neatly with all my t's crossed and i's dotted.

But honestly, what is a challenge without hardship, dedication, and more importantly, acceptance of possible failure? We can all agree the outcome if successful, is even that much more sweeter.

Dedication and commitment  along with unexpected pitfalls along the way are neither
a guarantee for success nor failure in whatever challenge you pursue.

So....

I challenge you to challenge yourself. Step out of your comfort zone.  Don't do something because all the cool kids are doing it. That's a slippery slope destined for failure.  The next time you sign up for a race, commit to getting to the pool on time, every day, changing your diet, or making a significant lifestyle change, aim high but aim that arrow high FOR YOURSELF and  do not be concerned what others will think or pass judgement on. Choose that goal with clear deliberate focus and GO FOR IT.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to my May- no sugary treats- challenge. Talk about hardship and pitfalls!!!  Trigirlpink without a Swedish Fish or a buttery sweet scone in my gnarly mitts is a challenge no one should have to witness. YIKES!

Happy training and hunting for your next new challenge!

I'm curious how your running with the Newton's is going? Can you write a post about that?
